Sivakarthikeyan and Anirudh shine at the Madharaasi audio launch

The much-awaited audio launch for Sivakarthikeyan’s upcoming film, Madharaasi, was nothing short of a spectacle, blending heartfelt camaraderie, nostalgic moments, and a powerful promise of a new cinematic experience. The event, held at Sai Ram Engineering College in Chennai, saw a massive turnout of fans and students, who were treated to a memorable evening by the film’s lead actor, Sivakarthikeyan, and music composer, Anirudh Ravichander.

While the trailer, which promises a high-octane action thriller, has already set social media ablaze, the audio launch became a viral sensation for the emotional and candid moments shared between Sivakarthikeyan and Anirudh. The duo, who have a long-standing friendship and a history of delivering chart-topping hits together, were the heart of the event.

One of the most talked-about moments was Anirudh’s live performance of the film’s peppy track, “Salambala.” The composer pulled Sivakarthikeyan onto the stage, and the two danced together, electrifying the crowd. The impromptu performance culminated in a tight, heartfelt hug that instantly went viral, with fans celebrating their genuine bond.

In his speech, Anirudh affectionately referred to Sivakarthikeyan as his “best friend” and lauded his journey and success. “He has a pure heart, and that is the reason he is at this level now,” Anirudh stated. He then made a moving statement, “Like that dialogue, ‘This is my town, I will stand for it,’ I’d say, ‘This is my SK, I will stand for him.’ My first blockbuster was Ethirneechal, and that film marked the beginning of our friendship. I may go field-out one day, but when he wins, I’ll feel like I won. I love you SK.” Anirudh’s words visibly moved Sivakarthikeyan, creating a truly emotional moment.

Sivakarthikeyan also took to the stage to speak about his journey, the film, and his relationship with Anirudh. He playfully took a dig at Anirudh about his marriage plans, drawing laughter from the audience. He also spoke about his collaboration with acclaimed director A. R. Murugadoss, expressing his gratitude and pride in being part of the director’s league of actors. He emotionally recalled his father’s favorite film, Ramanaa, also directed by Murugadoss, and said his father would have been proud of him for this collaboration.

The event also saw Sivakarthikeyan address a crucial topic that has been swirling on social media – the “Next Thalapathy” and “Kutty Thalapathy” titles given to him by some fans. He firmly stated, “Annan annan thaan, thambi thambi thaan” (Elder brother is always the elder brother, the younger brother is always the younger brother), sending a clear message that he respects superstar Vijay and is not trying to take his place or win over his fans. He also touched upon the controversy surrounding a gun scene with Vijay in G.O.A.T., clarifying that the scene was an act of encouragement and a gesture of support from Vijay.

Meanwhile, director Murugadoss revealed that the story was originally pitched to Shah Rukh Khan before finding its ideal star in Sivakarthikeyan, whom he praised for his mass appeal, humor, and dedication. The evening culminated with Sivakarthikeyan’s heartfelt speech, in which he reflected on his journey from being replaced as an anchor 14 years ago to now standing alongside Murugadoss as the lead of his own film.

Actress Rukmini shared her admiration for Sivakarthikeyan, describing herself as a “certified fangirl”.

Lyricist Super Subbu expressed delight in penning a high-energy kuthu number, while writer Vivek reflected on the enduring resonance of Murugadoss’s dialogues.

Cinematographer Sudeep spoke about the challenges of filming adrenaline-charged sequences, and stunt director Kevin revealed that the film features an intense climax battle between Sivakarthikeyan and Vidyut Jammwal, calling it one of the most powerful and exhilarating fight sequences in recent cinema.

Veteran actor Biju Menon, returning to Tamil films after 15 years, conveyed his gratitude to Murugadoss for the opportunity.
