Singam Puli reveals how his children led him to be part of Mufasa: The Lion King

It’s time to delve into the legacy of the ultimate king of the jungle, Mufasa: The Lion King, now brought to life in Tamil with some of the most popular voices of the Tamil industry! Following the blockbuster success of 2019’s live-action ‘The Lion King’, the visually stunning live-action Mufasa: The Lion King is all set to release on 20th December 2024 and a special treat is in store for fans as the Tamil dubbed version presents Arjun Das as Mufasa, Ashok Selvan as Taka, the beloved duo of Robo Shankar  and Singam Puli who have reunited as Pumbaa and Timon respectively, VTV Ganesh who will be voicing the younger version of Rafiki and industry veteran M. Nasser joining the team as the voice of Kiros.

“I never imagined I would be part of such a prestigious project,” Singam Puli shared. “It was purely accidental. When I first got the offer in 2019, I hesitated. But my children, upon overhearing the conversation, insisted that I seize the opportunity. They reminded me that such chances are rare and urged me to take the leap.”

Puli’s decision to embrace the role has proven to be a game-changer. Voicing Timon has not only brought him immense recognition but has also allowed him to connect with a global audience. “The character of Timon is always filled with positivity and inspires the belief that hard work is the key to success,” Puli explained. “Whenever I visit educational institutions, children often request me to deliver lines as Timon. It’s a humbling experience.”

As Puli prepares to embark on this new journey with Mufasa: The Lion King, he feels a sense of exhilaration and gratitude. “Lending my voice to this film is like a tonic coursing through my veins,” he expressed. “It’s an honor to be part of such a legendary franchise.” Puli’s story is a testament to the power of serendipity and the importance of seizing opportunities. His journey from a hesitant actor to a global voice actor is an inspiration to all those who dream big.
