Silverscreen and Television dubbing artistes union forms internal complaints committee

The annual general body meeting of Silverscreen and Television dubbing artistes Union was held on 5 December.

The Union’s founder president S V Sheker released the revised rules of the association which was received by  A Kumar of Sauket dubbing studio.

A press release said that an internal complaints committee (ICC) was introduced during the meeting.

“The ICC Committee for the protection of Women in the workplace has been set up under the guidance of Visakha as recommended by the Supreme Court. The ICC will work without the interference of the union,” the release added.

Singer Chinmayi Sripada, siddha doctor Maheshwari, advocate Chitra, senior advocate Meenakshi Murugan and dubbing artiste Murali Kumar are the members of the ICC.

Addressing the gathering, Shekher and Murali Kumar, said that there was no plan to add more than 300 members to the association and that it would operate with only qualified, truly talented playback artistes as members.

Several welfare schemes such as accident insurance and medical insurance were announced during the meeting.
