Sigma: Jason Sanjay’s debut directorial gets a release date
The makers of Tamil film Sigma, which marks the directorial debut of Chief Minister Vijay’s son, Jason Sanjay, announced earlier on Friday that the Sundeep Kishan-starrer will release in theatres worldwide on July 31.
Produced by Subaskaran under the Lyca Productions banner, the film is now in post-production and will soon be sent to the censor committee.
The makers have described Sigma as a “high-stakes heist” film. Jason, who has written and directed the film, recently said his debut feature brings together action, comedy, treasure hunt and heist elements to create a highly energetic cinematic experience.
The teaser presents Sundeep Kishan as a man on a quest in Jason Sanjay’s first outing as director.
Alongside Sundeep Kishan, the film features Faria Abdullah, Raju Sundaram, Sampath Raj, Shiv Panditt, Anbu Thasan, Yog Japee, Magalakshmi, Sheela Rajkumar, Kamalesh and Kiran Konda. Kaleel Raja, Sanjeev S and Ajaiy Ashok are credited as additional screenplay writers.
On the technical side, Sigma has music by Thaman S, cinematography by Krishnan Vasant, editing by Praveen KL, and stunts by Venkat and Selva. The film has wrapped production in locations including Chennai, Thailand, Thalakona and Salem.
Sigma is yet to receive its censor certificate. Cinematographer Krishnan Vasant has also referred to the crazy hype around the film.
