Samantha seeks divine blessings for Engal Thangam, expresses desire for strong Tamil film comeback
Actor Samantha has signalled the beginning of a new chapter in both her personal and professional life as she gears up for the release of her upcoming film Engal Thangam (Maa Inti Bangaram in Telugu) while also expressing a keen interest in returning to Tamil cinema with meaningful roles.
Ahead of the film’s release, Samantha visited the Tirumala Lord Sri Balaji temple in Tirupati along with her husband, filmmaker Raj Nidimoru, director B.V. Nandini Reddy and members of the film’s team. The group participated in temple rituals and offered prayers, seeking blessings for the movie’s success. The visit attracted considerable attention from devotees and fans gathered at the shrine.
The temple visit comes at an important moment for Samantha, whose latest project marks a significant release in her career. Industry observers have also noted encouraging pre-release business for the film, reflecting strong audience anticipation ahead of its theatrical debut.
Meanwhile, during a promotional event in Chennai for the Tamil version of the film, titled Engal Thangam, Samantha opened up about her long-standing connection with Tamil cinema and the city that played a major role in her career. She described Chennai as a place that continues to feel like home and recalled the memories associated with her journey in the industry.
The actor also acknowledged a professional regret — not having appeared in more Tamil films over the years. She said she remains eager to work in the industry and is actively looking for well-written characters that challenge her as a performer. Samantha appealed to filmmakers to approach her with strong scripts and substantial roles, indicating that she is ready to take on more Tamil projects in the coming years.
