Sai Pallavi turns to prayer and meditation for Sita role in Ramayana

Actress Sai Pallavi has revealed that prayer and meditation played an important role in preparing for her portrayal of Sita in the upcoming film Ramayana.

Speaking on Kaun Banega Crorepati with host Amitabh Bachchan, the actress said she approached the role with deep respect, recognising the responsibility associated with portraying a revered figure.

She explained that she prayed for the strength to overcome any difficulties she might encounter while performing the character.

Sai Pallavi also reflected on the film’s significance beyond its theatrical release, saying it would be watched by generations to come. For her, preserving Sita’s dignity on screen was therefore an essential part of the process.

The actress said meditation helped her remain calm during demanding filming schedules and stressful situations. She described learning to observe difficult circumstances without reacting immediately, a lesson she associated with her experience of portraying Sita.

Whenever she faced a challenging moment, she would consider how the character might respond, she said. The film features Ranbir Kapoor as Lord Ram and Ravi Dubey as Lord Lakshman. Directed by Nitesh Tiwari, Ramayana is one of the most eagerly anticipated Indian film projects.
