Royal Jordanian Sees India- Jordan Travel Momentum Following Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s Visit to Amman
Royal Jordanian Airlines has welcomed Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s historic visit to the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, describing it as a significant milestone in further strengthening bilateral relations between India and Jordan. The visit coincides with the celebration of 75 years of diplomatic relations between the two countries.
Prime Minister Modi’s visit to Amman includes high-level engagements with His Majesty King Abdullah II and underscores the growing partnership between India and Jordan across sectors such as trade, infrastructure, renewable energy, education, tourism, and people-to-people exchange.
As the national carrier of Jordan, Royal Jordanian Airlines plays a key role in supporting this evolving relationship through strong air connectivity. Central to this is the airline’s direct Mumbai (BOM)-Amman (AMM) service, which facilitates diplomatic, business, leisure, and faith travel between the two nations, while also positioning Amman as a strategic transit hub for Indian travellers connecting onward to the Middle East, Europe, and North America via Queen Alia International Airport.
Karim Makhlouf, Chief Executive Officer, Royal Jordanian Airlines, said, “Prime Minister Modi’s visit reflects the growing partnership between India and Jordan. As the national carrier, Royal Jordanian is proud to support increased mobility, tourism, and business travel between our countries.”
India continues to be a key strategic market for Royal Jordanian Airlines, with rising demand for leisure, faith-based, and business travel to Jordan and beyond. The airline continues to strengthen connectivity between India and Amman to support this growing travel momentum. The visit has also brought renewed focus on Jordan as a tourism destination for Indian travellers, known for attractions such as Petra, the Dead Sea, Wadi Rum, and the country’s rich religious and historical heritage.
Royal Jordanian Airlines actively supports ExploRJordan, the country’s official tourism platform, which aligns with Jordan’s wider tourism strategy by promoting curated itineraries, immersive experiences, and lesser-known destinations. Through its connectivity and partnerships, the airline helps enhance Jordan’s visibility and accessibility for Indian travellers. With its direct services to Amman and an extensive global network, Royal Jordanian Airlines remains well-positioned to support the next phase of India-Jordan engagement and sustain the growing momentum in travel between the two nations.
