Rotary Olympiad 2025 Sees Grand Success with Over 1,500 Students Participating at Nehru Stadium
The Rotary Olympiad 2025, hosted by Rotary International District 3234, concluded with resounding success today at Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium, Chennai. The day-long sporting event brought together more than 1,500 students from over 70 schools, celebrating athleticism, discipline, and youth empowerment on a professional stage.
The event was inaugurated by Lt. Gen. Karanbir Singh Brar, PVSM, AVSM, General Officer Commanding, Dakshin Bharat Area, who addressed the young athletes with an inspiring message on leadership, fitness, and determination. His presence set a spirited tone for the day.
An impressive march past by NCC cadets, school bands, and students marked the beginning of the Olympiad, filling the stadium with energy and excitement. Throughout the day, students actively participated in various track and field events, team sports, and fitness challenges, showcasing their talent and sportsmanship.
The initiative by Rotary aimed to foster camaraderie, discipline, and physical well-being among school children while offering them a rare opportunity to compete in a professionally managed environment. Rotary District 3234, under the leadership of AKS Rtn. Vinod Saraoji, continues to drive impactful community service. Speaking at the event, Governor Saraoji said, “The Rotary Olympiad is not just about winning medals; it’s about building confidence, character, and community. With no spot registrations, the event was well-organized, ensuring safety, discipline, and a high-quality experience for all involved. The winners of the Rotary Olympiad 2025 were announced at the culmination of the event, with Velammal Vidyalaya, Alapakkam emerging as the Overall Champion in the Boys’ category and Omega International School emerging as the Overall Champion in the Girls’ category, showcasing their exceptional talent and dedication to sports.
