Rocket Driver Movie Review

“Rocket Driver,” directed by debutant Sriram Ananthashankar, is a heartwarming story that blends fantasy and human emotions in a unique time travel narrative. The film follows Prabha (Vishvath), a physics enthusiast who dreams of making a difference in the world but is forced into becoming an auto driver due to his father’s financial constraints. His life takes an unexpected turn when he encounters the younger version of his role model, the celebrated scientist and former President of India, Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam.

The movie begins with a whimsical sequence, setting the tone for the unconventional and delightful events that follow. What could have been a complex story is instead presented with simplicity and charm, allowing the audience to focus on the emotional depth of the characters rather than the intricacies of time travel.

Naga Vishal’s portrayal of the young Abdul Kalam is the film’s standout performance, with Vishvath delivering a strong complementary role as Prabha. Their on-screen chemistry brings out a sense of admiration and inspiration. The film’s far-fetched premise is balanced by its sincere storytelling, making the time travel element feel natural within the context of the story.

Though the plot may seem thin, with few high-stakes moments, it’s the emotional core and authenticity that keep the audience engaged. Kathadi Ramamurthy shines as Sastry, Kalam’s real-life friend, adding depth to the narrative. While Sunainaa’s character has a limited role, her presence supports the overall feel-good atmosphere of the film. Kaushik Krish’s music elevates the emotional scenes, adding a layer of warmth to the story.

“Rocket Driver” may not be a high-octane film filled with edge-of-the-seat moments, but its genuine message and touching performances are sure to leave viewers with a smile and a renewed sense of hope.

The storyline may be thin, but the heartwarming performances leave us with a lasting smile.
