Road in Chennai named after actor Vivek
The road in Chennai’s Virugambakkam where late actor and Padma Shri Vivek lived has been renamed as ‘Chinna Kalaivanar Vivek Street.’ This is to commemorate the first year’s death anniversary of the actor which was on April 17.
The municipal administration and water supply department has passed a government order in this regard based on a request by the Chennai Corporation to change the road’s name after the late actor.
According to the GO, the residents living in Vivek’s locality and cinema associations had kept a representation to the corporation to change the road’s name.
“Based on the resident’s request, the commissioner of corporation had written to the MAWS department seeking a name change and it was done so,” the GO said. The road comes in ward 28 of zone 10 (Kodambakkam).
The late actor had passed away in 2021 after he was admitted to the hospital following a cardiac arrest.
