‘RJD–Congress ties are like oil and water, can never mix’: PM Modi

At a public rally in Muzaffarpur, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday said that the BJP and NDA’s priority is to enhance Bihar’s pride, promote its language and culture across the world, and ensure holistic development of the state.

He lashed out at the RJD and Congress, stating that these parties ruled Bihar for decades but only delivered “betrayal and false promises.”

On the Congress–RJD alliance, Modi took a swipe at the partnership, saying internal rifts are now visible. “In this election, the real news is not the abuses hurled at me, but the fight within RJD and Congress. Their relationship is like oil and water, they may share the same glass, but they can never truly mix.”

Slamming the Opposition over remarks on Chhath Puja, Modi said: “The women who observe long fasts and stand in the Ganga to offer arghya to Surya Dev, in the eyes of RJD and Congress, they are doing a drama. Will the mothers and sisters of Bihar tolerate this insult to Chhathi Maiya? I know no person from Bihar can forget this insult.”

He further said, “For Congress and RJD, the worship of Chhathi Maiya is a drama and nautanki. Can anyone insult Chhathi Maiya for votes? Will the people of Bihar tolerate this?”

Terming it his first rally after Chhath Puja, the Prime Minister said the Centre is working to secure UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage status for the Chhath Mahaparva.

Appealing to local sentiments, he added, “Yahan ki litchi jitni meethi hoti hai, utni hi meethi yahan ki boli bhi hai. I can see a large number of youth and women here… Phir ek baar NDA sarkar!”

Prime Minister Modi said, “When there is good governance, everyone prospers; but when there is jungle raj, everyone suffocates. These days, the entire Bihar is celebrating the GST Bachat Utsav, which is helping every family save money. Some are buying new bikes, some new scooters… Last year, around September and October, 50,000 motorcycles were sold in Bihar. This year, during the GST Bachat Utsav, in the same period, around 1.5 lakh motorcycles have been sold in Bihar.”
