“Ram Abdullah Anthony” Movie Review

The film opens with three inseparable friends studying in 12th standard at a Government school. Though carefree and mischievous, their strong bond and youthful spirit make them endearing. They are more focused on fun and adventure than academics, which adds a natural charm to their friendship.

The story then shifts to a shocking incident — the kidnapping and reported murder of a local bigwig’s grandson. What follows are gripping sequences revealing the events of those three fateful days. Parallelly, we are introduced to Soundarraja, a sincere cop haunted by the brutal murder of his father, Muthuram, who had earlier crossed paths with the same powerful man, Vela Ramamurthy.

The three boys eventually get caught, and the narrative’s second half delves deeper into the mystery — revealing why and how they got entangled in such a grave crime. The biggest twist comes when it’s revealed that there was a fourth person involved in the killing — and the identity of this person is truly startling!

Director handles the subject with care, especially in portraying the trio’s friendship that transcends religion. The boys belong to different faiths — Hindu, Christian, and Muslim — symbolizing unity in diversity. A moment where one boy discards his religious emblem sparks reflection, subtly questioning societal expectations rather than creating division.

The film also carries a powerful social message — a clear stand against tobacco-related products and the dangerous influence they have on youth.

Despite moments of intense violence, the filmmaker ensures that each act has purpose and meaning, urging the audience to look beyond surface-level judgment and understand the emotional and moral reasoning behind the characters’ choices.

With its unexpected climax and meaningful storytelling, the film stands as a thought-provoking tale of friendship, loss, justice, and redemption — leaving the viewer both moved and reflective.
