Rajinikanth’s Coolie release date officially announced
Rajinikanth is all set to set screens ablaze once again with director Lokesh Kanagaraj’s upcoming action-packed thriller Coolie, which is scheduled to release worldwide on August 14.
Produced by Kalanithi Maran under the Sun Pictures banner, the film is already generating massive buzz across film industries for its star-studded cast and high-octane premise.
Touted as an action thriller centered around the dark world of gold smuggling, Coolie promises to be a stylish, standalone film.
Interestingly, Lokesh Kanagaraj has confirmed that Coolie will not be part of his much-discussed Lokesh Cinematic Universe (LCU), sparking curiosity about the direction and style the filmmaker will bring to this new story.
The director took to X to share the update. He tweeted, “COOLIE FROM 14 AUGUST 2025.”
The film boasts an ensemble cast that unites talent across multiple Indian film industries. Apart from Rajinikanth in the lead, Coolie features Telugu superstar Nagarjuna, Kannada icon Upendra, Malayalam actor Soubin Shahir, and Tamil veteran Sathyaraj in significant roles.
Bollywood actor Aamir Khan is also said to make a cameo appearance, further fuelling the excitement.
