“Ragu Kethu” Movie Review

“Born from Deception. Bound by Destiny. The Shadows Rule the Stars.”

In Vedic astrology, planets are grouped by their nature. The Sun and Moon are luminous, while Mars, Mercury, Jupiter, Venus, and Saturn are stellar planets. Rahu and Kethu, however, are unique—they are known as shadow planets, or Chaya Grahas, without a physical form but with profound symbolic meaning.

According to ancient mythology, Rahu and Kethu originated from a single powerful being named Swarbhanu, an Asura who cleverly disguised himself as a Deva to taste the nectar of immortality. When Lord Vishnu, in his enchanting form as Mohini, realized the deception, he used his divine discus to separate Swarbhanu’s head from his body. However, since Swarbhanu had already consumed the nectar, both parts became immortal—the head became Rahu, and the body became Kethu.

In a gesture of cosmic balance, Goddess Durga transformed Rahu’s head by giving it a serpent’s body, while Kethu received a serpent’s head. With the blessings of Lord Shiva, both were elevated to celestial significance as part of the Navagrahas, the nine planetary influencers in astrology.

Rahu and Kethu journey counterclockwise through the zodiac, guiding human evolution in subtle but powerful ways. Rahu is seen as the planet of sudden gains, ambition, and worldly desires, often bringing unexpected success.Kethu, on the other hand, is a symbol of detachment, wisdom, and spiritual growth, helping individuals transcend materialism.

The story of Rahu and Kethu reminds us of transformation, duality, and the power of inner growth. The film Rahu Kethu brings this rich mythology to life, offering viewers a deeper understanding of these fascinating cosmic forces and their continuing influence on human destiny.
