Radha alleges ₹50 crore cheque fraud involving sister Ambika
Veteran actor Udayachandrika, popularly known as Radha, has filed a police complaint alleging that her sister, actress Ambika Nair, and their brother, Mallikarjuna Kunjan Nair, were involved in an attempt to misuse cheques belonging to her.
According to the complaint, Radha received an alert from IDBI Bank’s Porur branch on September 17 after five high-value cheques were presented for payment. The amounts mentioned were ₹11 lakh, ₹13.17 crore, ₹27.73 crore, ₹7 crore and ₹1.79 crore.
Radha said she immediately asked the bank to stop the payments, maintaining that there was no financial transaction or legally enforceable debt between her and her sister.
The complaint alleges that the cheques had been filled in by her brother. Radha further alleged that the cheques had been taken from her room without permission.
She said the cheques came from an older 50-leaf cheque book issued in 2022 for her business, then operating under the name ARS Garden Studio. After the business was renamed RR Gardens in January 2025 and a new cheque book was obtained, she said the older cheques were no longer valid and had been kept aside.
The allegations are part of the complaint filed with the Greater Chennai Police and will be subject to investigation.
