PS-I becomes first Tamil film to release in Imax
Mani Ratnam is gearing up for the release of his latest magnum opus Ponniyin Selvan, slated to open in theatres on September 30.
The biggie has garnered a fair deal of attention because of its impressive teaser and a stellar cast. Now, here is an exciting update about Ponniyin Selvan.
It is set to become the first Tamil movie to release in IMAX. Ponniyin Selvan is a period drama, produced by Mani Ratnam and Allirajah Subaskaran under the Madras Talkies and Lyca Productions banners, respectively.

Ponniyin Selvan is touted to be a potential gamechanger for the Tamil film industry. The two-part franchise has been shot on a budget of Rs 500 crore. The cast is headlined by Chiyaan Vikram, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Karthi, Jayam Ravi, Trisha, Aishwarya Lekshmi, and Sobhita Dhulipala, among others.
