‘Project Punnagai’ an Initiative from RDAC Supported by Kings Vidya Trust

  1. “PROJECT PUNNAGAI” is a mission initiated by the Rotary District Annettes Council (RDAC) to perform Free Surgery for Children with Cleft Lip and Cleft Palate.
  2. The launch of Project Punnagai happened on the 1st of August 2023 at The Malayalee Club, Chennai.
  3. The Rotary International has been creating lasting changes for over 118 years where its members come together with a mission of ‘Doing Good in the World’ upholding ‘Service Above Self’ as their motto. The Rotarians have motivated and inspired the Annettes to serve the community at a very young age.
  4. Cleft lip and palate is a congenital anomaly wherein a child is born with non-union of lip and palate leading to severe functional and cosmetic compromise. This service project is expected to have a profound impact on the lives of young children, bringing smiles, and transforming their futures.
  5. Rotary District Annettes Council (RDAC), Kings Vidya Trust, and Rotary Club of Chennai Royals (RCCR) have joined hands in a momentous agreement to bring smiles to the faces of young children in need. A Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) was signed on 1st August 2023, solidifying their commitment to perform 100 cleft lip correction surgeries for toddlers at Sri Ramachandra Medical College Hospital, Chennai.
  6. Under this groundbreaking MOU, RDAC, represented by Project Chairman Dr. Lokesh and District Annettes Representative Aathira R Nair, together with Kings Vidya Trust, represented by its Managing Trustee Mr. Vinod Nair and Trustee & Project Co-Ordinator Ms. V. C. Arathi Nair, have pledged to undertake the noble cause of correcting cleft lips in children from less privileged backgrounds.
  7. Kings Vidya Trust, through its benevolence, has generously agreed to sponsor all 100 surgeries through the Trust.
  8. RCCR, under the capable leadership of Srinivasan, President of RCCR, will play a pivotal role in monitoring and coordinating the project.
  9. Rtn Ravi Raman, District Governor (2023 -24) will be the chief guest and Rtn N S Saravanan, District Governor Elect was the Guest of Honor.
  10. Rtn Devi Krishna, District Annette Council Chairman, Past President & Secretary Rtn Jeyalatha Martin, RCCR, Rtn Madesh K, Director for Health, RCCR and members of Rotary Club of Chennai Royals participated in the event.
  11. The signing of this MOU represents a significant milestone in the collective commitment towards Creating Hope in the World.

புன்னகை திட்டம் என்பது கிங்ஸ் வித்யா அறக்கட்டளையின் ஆதரவுடன் RDAC இன் ஒரு துவக்க முயற்சி.

1. “புன்னகை திட்டம் ” என்பது ரோட்டரி மாவட்ட அனெட் கவுன்சிலின் (RDAC) மூலம் உதடு பிளவு மற்றும் அண்ணப்பிளவு உள்ள குழந்தைகளுக்கு இலவச அறுவை சிகிச்சை செய்ய தொடங்கப்பட்டது.
2. புன்னகை திட்டத்தின் தொடக்க விழா ஆகஸ்ட் 1, 2023 அன்று சென்னையில் உள்ள மலையாளி கிளப்பில் நிகழ்ந்தது.
3. ரோட்டரி இன்டர்நேஷனல் 118 ஆண்டுகளுக்கும் மேலாக நீடித்த மாற்றங்களை உருவாக்கி வருகிறது. அதன் உறுப்பினர்கள்  உலகில் நன்மை செய்தல் என்ற நோக்கத்துடன் ஒன்றிணைந்து  சுயத்திற்கு முன் சேவை என்பதை தங்கள் குறிக்கோளாகக் கடைப்பிடித்து வருகின்றனர். ரோட்டேரியன்கள் மிக இளம் வயதிலேயே சமூகத்திற்கு சேவை செய்ய அன்னெட்டுகளை ஊக்கப்படுத்தியுள்ளனர்.
4. உதடு பிளவு மற்றும் அண்ணம் என்பது ஒரு பிறவி சிதைவு ஒவ்வாமை ஆகும். இதில் ஒரு குழந்தையின் உதடு மற்றும் அண்ணம் ஒன்றிணைவதால் கடுமையான செயல்பாட்டு மற்றும் அழகு மாற்றங்களுக்கு வழிவகுக்கிறது. இந்தச் சேவைத் திட்டம் சிறு குழந்தைகளின் வாழ்க்கையில் ஆழமான தாக்கத்தை ஏற்படுத்தும்,
புன்னகையை வரவழைத்து, அவர்களின் எதிர்காலத்தை மாற்றும் என்று
எதிர்பார்க்கப்படுகிறது.
5. ரோட்டரி மாவட்ட அன்னெட்ஸ் கவுன்சில் (RDAC), கிங்ஸ் வித்யா அறக்கட்டளைடிரஸ்ட் மற்றும் ரோட்டரி கிளப் ஆஃப் சென்னை ராயல்ஸ் (RCCR) ஆகியவை தேவை நோக்கும் சிறு குழந்தைகளின் முகத்தில் புன்னகையை வரவழைக்கும் ஒரு முக்கியமான ஒப்பந்தத்தில் கைகோர்த்துள்ளன. சென்னை, ஸ்ரீ ராமச்சந்திரா மருத்துவக் கல்லூரியின்
மருத்துவமனையில், 100 குழந்தைகளுக்கு உதடு பிளவு திருத்த அறுவை சிகிச்சைகள் செய்வதற்கான அவர்களின் அர்ப்பணிப்பை உறுதிப்படுத்தும் வகையில், 1 ஆகஸ்ட் 2023 அன்று புரிந்துணர்வு ஒப்பந்தம் (MOU) கையெழுத்தானது.

6. இந்த அற்புதமான புரிந்துணர்வு ஒப்பந்தத்தின் கீழ், RDAC, திட்டத் தலைவர் டாக்டர். லோகேஷ் மற்றும் மாவட்ட அனெட்டஸ் பிரதிநிதியான ஆதிரா ரா. நாயர் மேலும் கிங்ஸ் வித்யா அறக்கட்டளையின் டிரஸ்ட்டின் நிர்வாக அறங்காவலர் திரு. வினோத் நாயர் மேலும் அறங்காவலர் மற்றும் திட்ட ஒருங்கிணைப்பாளர் செல்வி வி.சி. ஆரத்தி நாயர் ஆகியோர் பிரதிநிதித்துவப்படுத்தினர். நாயர், தாழ்த்தப்பட்ட பின்னணியில் உள்ள குழந்தைகளின் உதடு பிளவுகளை சரிசெய்வதற்கான உன்னதமான காரணத்தை மேற்கொள்வதாக உறுதியளித்துள்ளார்.
7. கிங்ஸ் வித்யா அறக்கட்டளை, நன்கொடை வழங்கி, தன் அறக்கட்டளையின் வழியாக அனைத்து 100 அறுவை சிகிச்சைகளுக்கும் நிதியுதவி வழங்க தாராளமாக ஒப்புக் கொண்டுள்ளது. 
8. RCCR தனது தலைவரான ரோட்டரியன் ஸ்ரீனிவாசன், RCCR அவர்களின் திறமையான தலைமையின் கீழ் இந்த திட்டத்தை கண்காணித்து ஒருங்கிணைப்பதில் முக்கிய பங்கு வகிக்கும்.
9. மாவட்ட ஆட்சித்தலைவர் ரோட்டரியன் ரவிராமன் (2023-24) தலைமை விருந்தினராகவும், மாவட்ட ஆளுநர் தெரிவு செய்யப்பட்ட ரோட்டரியன் என் எஸ் சரவணன் கௌரவ விருந்தினராகவும் கலந்து கொள்கின்றனர்.
10. இதில் மாவட்ட அனெட் கவுன்சில் தலைவர், ரோட்டரியன் தேவி கிருஷ்ணா, முன்னாள் தலைவர் மற்றும் செயலாளர் ரோட்டரியன் ஜெயலதா மார்ட்டின், RCCR, சுகாதார இயக்குனர் ரோட்டரியன் மாதேஷ் க., RCCR மற்றும் ரோட்டரி கிளப் ஆஃப் சென்னை ராயல்ஸ் உறுப்பினர்கள் கலந்து கொண்டனர்.
11. இந்த புரிந்துணர்வு ஒப்பந்தம், உலகில் நம்பிக்கையை உருவாக்குவதற்கான கூட்டு அர்ப்பணிப்பில் குறிப்பிடத்தக்க சாதனையை பிரதிபலிக்கிறது.
