Pooja Hegde says Retro is her proudest work
Pooja Hegde is thrilled about her upcoming film Retro, calling it the project she is most proud of.
Starring alongside Suriya, she praised the film’s energetic set, the creative process, and her well-crafted character, even though the movie is still in editing. This marks her return to Kollywood after Beast.
Speaking about Retro, Pooja shared, I love everything about it—from the way we shot it to how it was created. The team brought great energy, and my character is beautifully designed. She emphasized her excitement, stating that despite not having seen the final cut, she already considers it one of her best works.
In an interview , Pooja revealed that she landed the role because director Karthik Subbaraj was impressed with her performance in Radhe Shyam, despite its box office struggles. She sees this opportunity as a step toward more exciting projects.
Retro features Suriya as Mathew Varadharajan, a former gangster whose past resurfaces. Pooja plays his love interest, Devi. The film also stars Jayaram, Joju George, Karunakaran, Nassar, and Prakash Raj.
