“Pogumidam Vegu Thooramillai” Movie Review
Pogumidam Vegu Thooramillai is an engaging film featuring Vemal and Karunaas in pivotal roles. Directed by debutant Micheal K Raja, this movie tells a story that unfolds within 24 hours, making it a fast-paced narrative.
The plot revolves around two contrasting characters: Kumar (Vemal), a hearse van driver, and Nalinamoorthy (Karunaas), a traditional Koothu artist. The story kicks off when Nalinamoorthy hitches a ride with Kumar, who is on his way to Tirunelveli to deliver the mortal remains of a deceased person. Initially, the two don’t see eye to eye and have a strained relationship. However, as they travel together, the situations and people they encounter gradually shift their perspectives, leading to an unexpected friendship.
The film also features strong supporting performances from Aadukalam Naren, Deepa Shankar, and Pavan, who play characters connected to the deceased. Their roles add depth and tension to the story, creating conflicts that enrich the narrative.
The technical crew of the film includes music director NR Raghunanthan, cinematographer Demel Xavier Edwards, editor M Thiyagarajan, and stunt choreographer Metro Mahesh. Their collective efforts enhance the film’s overall quality, particularly in creating a gripping atmosphere.
While some films capture the audience’s attention instantly, Pogumidam Vegu Thooramillai gradually draws viewers in, rewarding them with a memorable experience. The screenplay is compelling, focusing on Kumar, who is torn between his duty to deliver a dead body and his responsibility towards his pregnant wife. His journey becomes increasingly complicated when Nalinamoorthy’s antics cause more trouble than assistance.
The film delivers unexpected twists, including a stolen corpse and a battle between the legal and illegal heirs of the deceased. These elements add layers of intrigue and keep the audience hooked until the end.
Vemal delivers a strong performance as the determined Kumar, while Karunaas shines in a role that showcases his acting prowess. Pogumidam Vegu Thooramillai is a film worth watching, filled with heart, humor, and surprises.
