PM Modi to flag off India’s first hydrogen-powered train on July 17
Prime Minister Narendra Modi is scheduled to visit Haryana, Punjab and Chandigarh on July 17, where he will inaugurate several development projects, including India’s first hydrogen-powered train.
The train will operate between Jind and Sonipat using hydrogen fuel technology, which is expected to reduce emissions and support environmentally sustainable rail transport.
Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini said the selection of the state for the launch reflects its growing role in infrastructure and technological advancement. He added that the project would strengthen India’s push towards cleaner transportation.
Besides the train launch, Modi is expected to inaugurate and lay foundation stones for several infrastructure projects across Haryana, including new medical colleges, highway developments, railway infrastructure and a Sikh museum in Kurukshetra.
The Prime Minister will also visit Chandigarh to inaugurate new healthcare facilities at PGIMER and a multi-purpose auditorium at Panjab University.
