PM Modi speaks to Mallikarjun Kharge, wishes him speedy recovery after surgery
Prime Minister Narendra Modi spoke to Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge Thursday and wished him a speedy recovery, a day after the 83-year-old underwent a pacemaker implantation.
Kharge, 83, was admitted to M S Ramaiah Hospital in Bengaluru on Tuesday and underwent the procedure the next day. Priyank Kharge said that his father’s condition is stable and he is doing well.
In a post on X, Modi said, “Spoke to Kharge Ji. Enquired about his health and wished him a speedy recovery.” “Praying for his continued well-being and long life,” the prime minister said.
Karnataka Minister and Congress leader Priyank Kharge confirmed the procedure was successful, describing it as “short and minor,” and added that Kharge is expected to resume work from October 3 and attend his scheduled engagements. He also thanked well-wishers for their concern and support.
“My sincere thanks to the Congress cadres, leaders and supporters for the outpouring of wishes. My deepest gratitude. I intend to start my work schedule soon,” Mallikarjun Kharge wrote on X.
