PM Modi accuses Congress of promoting Aurangzeb’s ideologies in Maharashtra campaign

Prime Minister Narendra Modi has criticized the Congress party, accusing it of promoting the ideals of the Mughal emperor Aurangzeb during the ongoing election campaign in Maharashtra. Modi’s remarks came during a rally, where he sought to draw a contrast between the ideologies of the Congress and the vision of his government.

Addressing a large gathering, the Prime Minister said that the Congress’s actions and political strategies reflect an ideological alignment with the “divisive” policies of Aurangzeb. He further alleged that the Congress, by not taking a firm stand against the ideology of the past, was perpetuating policies that prioritize appeasement over national unity.

Modi’s comments come at a time when Maharashtra is gearing up for assembly elections, with political leaders from various parties making strong statements to sway public opinion. The Prime Minister’s remarks were aimed at rallying voters around his party’s narrative of national integrity, security, and progress, contrasting it with what he described as the Congress’s outdated policies.

He emphasized the importance of rejecting “divisive” forces and choosing leadership that promotes unity and development. Modi also pointed to the successes of his government in promoting social welfare, infrastructure, and economic growth, positioning the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) as the party of change for Maharashtra’s future.

The Congress, however, dismissed Modi’s criticism, accusing him of diverting attention from real issues affecting the people of Maharashtra, including unemployment and economic challenges. Party leaders reiterated their commitment to fighting for the welfare of all sections of society, asserting that their focus was on inclusive growth and social justice.

Modi’s statements have sparked a new round of political debate in Maharashtra, as both parties continue to engage in a war of words ahead of the crucial elections.
