“Paramasivan Fathima” Movie Review

Paramasivan Fathima: A Horror Mystery with Potential

Paramasivan Fathima, starring Vemal and Chaya Devi, is a horror-thriller set in a peaceful village where a string of mysterious murders targeting bridegrooms sparks a suspenseful police investigation. Built around an engaging premise, the film explores chilling secrets hidden beneath a seemingly calm surface.

The plot is layered with intrigue, and the central mystery holds the viewer’s attention, especially as the investigation unfolds. One of the film’s strengths is its unique story idea, which blends horror and suspense with social commentary. The screenplay tries to balance mystery with emotional drama, and though the pacing feels slow at times, the core narrative remains compelling.

Sashvitha delivers a strong and memorable performance, especially in emotionally charged scenes. The actor playing her Muslim partner also stands out, adding depth and sincerity to their relationship. Vemal and Chaya Devi, though limited in the first half, leave a mark in the later portions of the film. A song depicting childhood romance adds a tender, nostalgic touch that resonates emotionally.

Technically, the cinematography captures the village atmosphere effectively, lending a haunting beauty to the film. Some sequences are visually impressive and enhance the eerie tone. While the background score and editing could have been more refined, the effort to create an atmospheric horror-thriller is evident.

Paramasivan Fathima may not fully reach the heights of its ambitious plot, but it is a film with heart, intention, and moments that shine. With tighter editing and sharper pacing, it could have been more impactful. Still, for viewers who enjoy rural mysteries with horror undertones and layered characters, this film offers a unique experience. It’s not flawless, but it’s a commendable attempt at storytelling within the genre
