On August 15, PM Modi to equal Jawaharlal Nehru and Indira Gandhi’s record with 11th Independence Day address

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will address the nation from the ramparts of the Red Fort for the 11th consecutive time on August 15.

He will be the first Prime Minister after Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru to achieve the feat.

According to sources, PM Modi will present the priorities of his government in the third term before the audience, and provide a roadmap to make India a developed country.

Furthermore, special guests of the Prime Minister will be invited to the grand celebration at the iconic Red Fort. In line with the Prime Minister’s focus on the poor, women, youth and farmers, representatives of the four groups will attend the Independence Day celebrations, sources added.

Nearly 4,000 guests from these groups have been invited for the celebration on August 15. According to the sources, these guests have further been divided into 11 categories.

The ministries of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare, Youth Affairs, and Women and Child Development have been given the responsibility of inviting farmers, youth and women guests, respectively. Besides, the ministries of Panchayati Raj and Rural Development, Tribal Affairs, Education and Defense have also prepared the guest list.

The NITI Aayog has also reportedly invited guests. Sources stated that the Indian contingent of Paris Olympics 2024 is also expected to be invited to the Independence Day celebrations.

More than 18,000 people will be present at the event.
