Omicron: Several states announce night curfew

As India witnesses an uptick of coronavirus cases, several states imposed a night curfew to keep a check on the spread of the virulent disease.

On Sunday, 31 new cases of the Omicron variant were reported from Maharashtra, while Kerala reported 19 more cases. Telangana, Chandigarh and Haryana reported three, two and one Omicron cases, respectively.

Also, Madhya Pradesh and Himachal Pradesh registered Omicron cases for the first time. Maharashtra is the worst-hit with 141 Omicron cases.

Delhi on Sunday imposed a night curfew from 11pm till from 5 am which will come into effect on Monday.

Karnataka announced a night curfew in the state from 10 pm to 5 am for 10 days with effect from December 28.
