Newly-appointed TNPSC chairman assumes office

The newly appointed Chairman of the Tamil Nadu Public Service Commission (TNPSC), SK Prabhakar, has announced that his first priority is to reduce the time gap between examinations and the announcement of results.

Addressing the media on Friday after assuming office, Prabhakar emphasized the importance of conducting TNPSC exams fairly and transparently.

“As the Chairman of the Commission, I will ensure that the TNPSC exams are conducted with utmost fairness and transparency,” Prabhakar stated. He acknowledged the hard work of the lakhs of aspirants in Tamil Nadu who are diligently preparing for various TNPSC exams, aiming to secure government jobs.

“In order for candidates to perform well in their competitive exams, we conduct the exams according to the annual planner. Candidates expect the results to be published promptly after the exams are completed. We will take all necessary steps to ensure that exam results are released as quickly as possible,” Prabhakar assured.

He also mentioned that in preparing the Annual Planner for TNPSC exams, the Commission will consider the examination dates of other agencies, including the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC), to avoid scheduling conflicts. “This will prevent candidates from having to choose between multiple exams on the same day, reducing chaos and allowing them to focus on their preparations. We will support the candidates in fulfilling their hard work and dreams in a smooth and organized manner,” Prabhakar noted.

Regarding potential reforms in the Commission, Prabhakar highlighted that various reforms have already been implemented in the TNPSC over time, leading to a stabilized functioning of the Commission. However, he remained open to further improvements.

“We welcome any necessary suggestions to enhance the functioning of the Commission, whether from candidates or other stakeholders. Any viable suggestions that can improve our processes will certainly be implemented,” Prabhakar concluded.
