Netflix bags the OTT rights for Suriya’s film with Venky Atluri
Netflix has reportedly secured the post-theatrical digital rights of Suriya 46 for a massive sum.
The film, which marks the first collaboration between actor Suriya and director Venky Atluri, is one of the most anticipated projects in South Indian cinema.
While the official figure has not been confirmed, industry sources and various media outlets suggest that Netflix has acquired the rights for a staggering amount, potentially making it one of the biggest digital deals for a South Indian film to date.
This pre-release deal underscores the immense confidence in the project’s potential and Suriya’s growing global appeal.
Directed by Venky Atluri, who is fresh off the success of his film “Lucky Baskhar,” ‘Suriya 46’ is said to be a pan-Indian project.
The film is produced by Sithara Entertainments and also features actress Mamitha Baiju in a key role.
The film’s shoot is currently underway, and the deal with Netflix has already generated significant buzz and financial momentum for the production.
