“Nalla Padam” Movie Review
Kumaran is a lively, carefree man whose world revolves around one thing—alcohol. Despite his irresponsible lifestyle, he is deeply loved and supported by his affectionate mother. However, his sister and girlfriend constantly encourage him to change, hoping that he will leave his drinking habits behind and build a better future. Kumaran, though, sees life differently—until an unexpected series of events turns his world upside down.
Things take a dramatic and entertaining turn when a group of passionate alcohol lovers form the Association for Alcohol and choose Kumaran as their leader. Suddenly, the fun-loving Kumaran finds himself at the centre of an unusual movement, gaining attention, responsibility and a completely new purpose in life.
Just when everything seems to be going his way, the Central Government announces a nationwide ban on alcohol. The decision creates shockwaves across the country, transforming Kumaran’s life overnight. Forced to face a world without the one thing he depends on most, he embarks on a hilarious, desperate and unpredictable journey to find a drink.
As Kumaran and his association members deal with the challenges of prohibition, the story unfolds with laughter, romance, emotion and high-energy mass moments. His personal struggles bring him closer to his family and girlfriend, while also raising important questions about addiction, freedom, responsibility and the impact of social change on ordinary people.
