Musical tribute to SPB by renowned doctor and Sikkil Gurucharan

Dr Sridharan has penned lyrics for a touching song on SPB based on ‘Thulli thirindha pen ondru…’ from the movie ‘Kaathirundha Kangal’ sung by P B Srinivas.

The song ‘Thulli thirindha uyir ondru, thuyil kondathe indru…’ has been sung by Sikkil Gurucharan and it was launched on June 4, 2021 to mark the 75th birth anniversary of SPB.

The song, with its lovable lyrics and soulful rendition, pays fitting tribute to SPB and is being appreciated by many on YouTube and other social media platforms. Music for the song was arranged by Arun Menon.

Says Sikkil Gurucharan, “Dr Sridharan sent me the lyrics a few weeks back and expressed his wish to record it in the same tune as the original, vintage film song sung by PB Srinivas from the movie Kaathirundha Kangal.

The apt occasion to release this number came on June 4, the 75th birthday of SPB Sir at the special event that was conducted online by Tokyo Tamil Sangam and World Tamil Sangams.

This is our small tribute to the singing legend who left us last year. We miss you SPB sir. You will always rule our hearts.”

The song was penned by Dr Sridharan to mark the untimely demise of SPB. S P Balasubrahmanyam had recorded three of Sridharan’s songs earlier.  
“Once Tokyo Tamil Sangam’s online event to celebrate SPB 75 was organised, this song was completed in three days during lockdown time with music arrangement by Arun Menon and was successfully released during the online event,” says Dr Sridharan.
