Modi to reply to President’s Address in Lok Sabha today

The Budget Session of Parliament, which has witnessed a ruckus mainly over the Adani-Hindenburg row since it started, will see Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s Motion of Thanks to the President’s address in the Lok Sabha on Wednesday.

His address comes a day after senior Congress leader Rahul Gandhi spoke on the Motion of Thanks to President Murmu, during which he questioned the Centre for the rise of Adani. It was followed by Mahua Moitra saying that a famous person whose name starts with ‘A’ and ends with ‘I’, who stinks of crony capitalism, has duped everyone.

The Opposition has been demanding an inquiry into the allegations levelled by the Hindenburg firm on Adani group.

The opposition parties have alleged that the meltdown in Adani Group shares is a ‘mega scam’ that involves common people’s money as public sector LIC and SBI have invested in them and have questioned the government on steps taken by it.
