“Mellisai” Movie Review

Mellisai is a warm, soulful family drama that gently captures the emotional rhythms of a middle-class household, making it deeply relatable and comforting. At its heart is Rajan (Kishore), a dedicated PT master with a quiet passion for singing, and his wife Vidya (Subatra Robert), a compassionate schoolteacher. Together with their two children, they lead a contented life rooted in love, values, and mutual respect. Their simple world, however, begins to shift when their son Deepak secures a lucrative IT job, bringing prosperity along with unexpected emotional distance and tension within the family.

Kishore delivers a deeply moving performance, portraying Rajan with remarkable restraint and emotional depth. His internal conflicts—caught between pride in his son’s success and the pain of feeling sidelined—are conveyed with touching realism. Subatra Robert complements him beautifully, offering strength, warmth, and quiet wisdom as Vidya.
