Mammootty comes on board for Dhanush’s D55
Mammootty, veteran Malayalam actor, has officially joined the cast of the upcoming Tamil movie D55, which will be directed by Rajkumar Periasamy and has Dhanush in the lead role.
The announcement was made on Tuesday, not long after the creators released a mysterious poster hinting at a big new cast member.
The message was, “You think you’ve seen them all, but the biggest one is still to come.” The “M”ost awaited!! The “M”agnificent!!!” quickly got fans talking, and many of them correctly guessed that Mammootty would be involved.
The production team confirmed the news on X, saying, “When the Big M picks a story, it becomes history.” We are so happy to have Megastar @mammukka join #D55! We are honored! The news has made a lot of people talk about the movie even more.
D55 is Mammootty’s first Tamil movie in seven years. The last time people saw the legendary actor was in the critically acclaimed Peranbu (2019), where he got a lot of praise for his performance.
People are saying that his addition is a big boost to the project, which already has a strong creative team.
Wunderbar Films, Dhanush’s own company, is working with RTake Studios to make the movie.
