Maaveeran movie review
Story:
After suffering a head injury, Sivakarthikeyan, a shy cartoonist for a newspaper, starts hearing a voice that narrates his life as an epic story of bravery.
The voice urges him to confront Mysskin, a corrupt politician, and embark on a heroic journey.
What does Siva do after that and who is the voice that is guiding Siva forms the rest of the story.
Analysis:
Directed by Madonne Ashwin, first half of the movie is outstanding. The film superbly takes off and moves with the fantasy element at a very good pace. However, the second half is where the film dips a bit and there is a bit of predictability in the proceedings.
Sivakarthikeyan has effectively portrayed the role of a timid man slowly gathering his courage and transforming into a different person. His fluency and conviction in the action sequences has also worked out well.
Mysskin does given the film what it needs and his made the character his own. At the same time, Sunil’s character too is properly fleshed out.
Aditi Shankar and Sarita offer very good contributions to the film, on the other hand.
Vijay Sethupathi’s addition as the voice from above is a splendid addition which is going to excite one and all for sure.
Maaveeran is strong in its cinematography department, with Vidhu Ayyana’s excellent work striking right.
Bharath Shankar’s songs are likeable and his BGM complements the proceedings well.
