M. Nasser calls working on Mufasa: The Lion King a ‘rare opportunity’
M. Nasser who voices Kiros in the Tamil edition of Mufasa: The Lion King describes his character while speaking about how such opportunities are rare to come across
It’s time to delve into the legacy of the ultimate king of the jungle, Mufasa: The Lion King, now brought to life in Tamil with some of the most popular voices of the Tamil industry! Following the blockbuster success of 2019’s live-action ‘The Lion King’, the visually stunning live-action Mufasa: The Lion King is all set to release on 20th December 2024 and a special treat is in store for fans as the Tamil dubbed version presents Arjun Das as Mufasa, Ashok Selvan as Taka, the beloved duo of Robo Shankar and Singam Puli who have reunited as Pumbaa and Timon respectively, VTV Ganesh who will be voicing the younger version of Rafiki and industry veteran M. Nasser joins the team as the voice of Kiros.
Speaking about his experience working on Mufasa: The Lion King, M. Nasser said, “Even before starting my journey as an actor, I worked as a dubbing artist for many projects. I have been a huge fan of The Lion King since its first installment. Who would turn down such an offer? When the opportunity arose, I knew I couldn’t miss it. Opportunities like this are rare.”
Describing his character Kiros, M. Nasser said, “Defining Kiros in one line I would say – Self-confidence! He is a character who will resonate with audiences and remain unforgettable. I put in considerable effort during dubbing to match his screen presence. What I like about Kiros is that he fights for what he believes in, whether right or wrong.”
Speaking about what audiences can expect from the film, M.Nasser mentioned, “This movie is not just for kids; it’s also for adults. Every grownup has a childlike nature with them. This film will let them cherish it with a wonderful experience. Mufasa embodies positivity, making it an enjoyable experience for all. It will be in theaters starting December 20, 2024.”
Bringing new and fan-favourite characters to life and blending live-action filmmaking techniques with photoreal computer-generated imagery, “Mufasa: The Lion King” is directed by Barry Jenkins. “Mufasa: The Lion King” enlists Rafiki to relay the legend of the unlikely rise of the beloved king of the Pride Lands, introducing an orphaned cub called Mufasa, a sympathetic lion named Taka—the heir to a royal bloodline—and their expansive journey alongside an extraordinary group of misfits.
