Lockdown in TN extended till 19 July

Tamilnadu Chief Minister MK Stalin on Saturday announced the extension of lockdown in the state, till July 19.

The decision comes following a meeting of CM Stalin with top officials. Restaurants, tea shops, bakeries, roadside eateries and sweet shots can stay open till 9 pm with 50 per cent customers.  Transport services between Tamilnadu and Pondicherry will resume from next week.

These places will need to comply with Covid protocols such as placing hand sanitisers outside and ensuring that people in queues follow social distancing. Air-conditioned outlets must have adequate ventilation with doors and/or windows open.

While some relaxations have been announced, inter-state bus transport (private and government), cinema halls, bars/pubs, swimming pools, cultural/political events involving public, educational institutions and zoos will remain shut.
