Kick Movie Review

Produced by Fortune Films and directed by Prashant Raj, the film boasts a cast that includes Santhanam, Tanya Hope, Thambi Ramaiah, Senthil, Kovai Sarala, and Brahmanandam.

This movie serves as an interesting example of the law of averages at work, especially when compared to Santhanam’s previous hit, “D D Returns,” which was thoroughly enjoyable.

Unfortunately, the director’s uninspired approach to the scenes has dampened the comedy elements, with most of the humorous sequences falling flat. The dialogue also lacks the expected wit, occasionally veering into excessive exaggeration.

It’s disheartening to witness Thambi Ramaiah, a National Award-winning actor, reduced to such a demeaning role. Neither Senthil nor Brahmanandam manage to make a significant impact.

The second half of the film fares better, offering some genuinely funny moments. The central theme revolves around the rivalry between the lead characters, Santhanam and Tanya Hope. While Santhanam prioritizes the end result over the means, Tanya Hope insists on their journey being parallel.

Sudhakar S. Raj’s vibrant cinematography is a visual treat.

With a more thoughtfully constructed screenplay, this film could have been far more enjoyable.
