Kamal Haasan to Produce Rajinikanth’s 173rd Film, Sundar C to Direct
In a massive collaboration that has sent shockwaves through the South Indian film industry, Superstar Rajinikanth is set to team up with Ulaganayagan Kamal Haasan for his next venture.
The official announcement confirms that Kamal Haasan’s prestigious banner, Raaj Kamal Films International (RKFI), will produce the highly anticipated ‘Thalaivar 173’.
The choice of director, Sundar C, is particularly noteworthy. This project marks a significant reunion for the director and Rajinikanth, who last worked together 28 years ago on the 1997 blockbuster, Arunachalam.
Known for his knack for delivering commercial entertainers with a perfect mix of comedy, action, and family sentiment, Sundar C’s return to direct the Superstar after nearly three decades has sparked immense curiosity about the film’s genre and scope.
The film is slated for a grand theatrical release during Pongal 2027 and will be released by Red Giant Movies.
