Justice Manindra Mohan Shrivastava to be Madras High Court CJ
The Union Government has officially notified the transfer of Justice Manindra Mohan Shrivastava, currently the Chief Justice of the Rajasthan High Court, to assume the position of Chief Justice of the Madras High Court.
The notification, issued yesterday, marks a significant judicial reshuffle following the recommendation by the Supreme Court Collegium on May 26, 2025.
Justice Shrivastava will succeed Justice K.R. Shriram, who has been transferred to the Rajasthan High Court, a move that is part of a broader interchange of judicial leadership across the nation.
Born on March 6, 1964, in Bilaspur, Justice Manindra Mohan Shrivastava brings a wealth of experience to his new role.
He enrolled with the Bar Council of Madhya Pradesh in 1987, subsequently practicing in the Raigarh district court, the High Court of Madhya Pradesh, and the High Court of Chhattisgarh. His dedication and legal acumen led to his designation as a senior advocate in 2005.
His judicial journey began with his elevation as a judge of the Chhattisgarh High Court in December 2009. In October 2021, he was transferred to the Rajasthan High Court, where he eventually took the helm as Chief Justice on February 6, 2024.
Justice Shrivastava is slated to serve as the Chief Justice of the Madras High Court until his retirement on March 6, 2026.
