Jiiva launches his 49th film with Malayalam filmmaker Muhammad Musthafa

Actor Jiiva has begun work on his next film, tentatively titled Jiiva 49, collaborating with Malayalam filmmaker Muhammad Musthafa for the project. The film was formally launched with a pooja ceremony on Monday.

The upcoming production features Nimisha Sajayan and Angel Maria, known for her association with Vaazha 2, in prominent roles. Jiiva is co-producing the film alongside Sudhan Sundaram under the Passion Studios banner.

Further details about the storyline, supporting cast, technical crew and release schedule have not yet been announced.

Musthafa, who transitioned from acting to filmmaking, made his directorial debut with Kappela. The film received recognition, including the Kerala State Award for Best Debut Director. His subsequent directorial venture, Mura, was a gangster drama featuring Suraj Venjaramoodu and Hridhu Haroon.

He has also earned recognition as an actor, receiving a national-level special mention for his performance in Ain.

Jiiva has recently collaborated with another Malayalam filmmaker, Nithish Sahadev, on Thalaivar Thambi Thalaimaiyil. The film emerged as a sleeper hit, offering the actor a welcome boost following a run of underperforming releases.

With Jiiva 49, the actor is continuing to explore collaborations across the Tamil and Malayalam film industries. Expectations surrounding the new project are likely to grow as further details emerge.
