Jailer 2 unveils mass melody as Rajinikanth sequel gears up for release
The makers of Jailer 2 have released the film’s second song, One Sun One Moon, giving fans another glimpse of Superstar Rajinikanth’s character in the upcoming sequel.
The track features vocals from composer Anirudh along with MS Krsna, with lyrics credited to Heisenberg and Super Subu. The song celebrates Rajinikanth’s enduring screen presence and includes the line “Innaikkum Ennennaikkum, Oru Thalaivan Dhaan.”
Nelson is returning as director, while several members of the original Jailer cast are also part of the sequel. Ramya Krishnan, Mirnaa, Shivarajkumar, Yogi Babu, Jaffer Sadiq and Vinayakan are among the returning actors.
Mohanlal is also expected to appear again, although the production house has not officially confirmed his participation.
The sequel has added a sizeable group of new actors, including SJ Suryah, Suraj Venjaramoodu, Vidya Balan, Vijay Sethupathi, Anna Rajan, Hakkim Shah, Bagavathi Perumal, Meghana Raj, Shamna Kasim and Jatin Sarna.
There have also been unconfirmed reports linking Shah Rukh Khan, Mithun Chakraborty and Hrithik Roshan to the film, though their involvement has not been officially announced.
Much of the technical team from the first Jailer has been retained. Anirudh continues as music composer, while R Nirmal handles editing and Vijay Kartik Kannan serves as cinematographer. DRK Kiran is the art director, with Pallavi Singh and Muthul Hafeez working on costumes. Stunt choreography is being handled by Chethan D’Souza.
Jailer 2 is scheduled to reach cinemas on October 15. Sun Pictures has also announced its distribution arrangements, with Sree Gokulam Movies handling Kerala and Karnataka, Sithara Entertainments covering Andhra Pradesh and Telangana, and Malik Streams Corporation distributing the film in Malaysia.
