The film will also have a wide IMAX release, marking a first for a Rajinikanth-starrer.

Much of the technical team from Jailer has returned for the sequel. Anirudh is once again composing the music, while Vijay Karthik Kannan handles cinematography. R Nirmal, art director DRK Kiran and costume designers Pallavi Singh and Muthul Hafeez are also back.

Stunt director Chethan D’Souza is among the new additions to the technical crew. The project is expected to bring the two veteran actors together again decades after their last collaboration in Thillu Mullu.

He is also set to appear in Dharman, directed by Ashwath Marimuthu and produced by Kamal Haasan’s Raaj Kamal Films International.
