“I,Nobody” Movie Review
“A gripping thriller where truth is hunted, but humanity prevails.”
Money has an incredible ability to influence human decisions, and I, Nobody explores this idea through an engaging thriller packed with suspense, emotion, and social commentary. Director Nisam Basheer crafts an intriguing narrative that examines greed, perception, and the consequences of chasing easy money, while keeping viewers invested throughout.
The story opens with a bank robbery that spirals out of control, leaving Rajeevan (Prithviraj Sukumaran) caught in an unexpected nightmare. Mistakenly believed to know the whereabouts of the missing money, the ordinary government employee suddenly becomes the target of criminals, authorities, and an entire city. As danger closes in, his family’s safety hangs in the balance, creating a gripping emotional core.
Prithviraj Sukumaran delivers a powerful and nuanced performance, portraying Rajeevan as a relatable everyman forced into extraordinary circumstances. His restrained yet impactful acting makes every moment believable and emotionally engaging. Parvathy Thiruvothu complements him beautifully as Meera, bringing warmth, resilience, and emotional strength to the film. Their chemistry adds authenticity to the family’s struggle.
Beyond its thrilling premise, I, Nobody raises thought-provoking questions about truth, public perception, and how narratives are shaped in the digital era. Writer Sameer Abdul skillfully blends an entertaining thriller with relevant social themes, making the story resonate beyond its suspenseful plot.
Technically, the film shines. Dinesh Purushothaman’s cinematography captures both the intimacy of family life and the scale of the unfolding chaos with equal finesse. Nixon George’s immersive sound design heightens the tension, while Jakes Bejoy’s background score perfectly complements the mood. The action sequences are slick and effectively staged, adding excitement without overshadowing the story. Hakkim Shahjahan, Ashokan, and young performers Nakshatra and Aira contribute memorable supporting performances.
While the second half takes a more measured approach than the explosive opening, it remains engaging and concludes on a meaningful note. With compelling performances, sharp social observations, and impressive technical craftsmanship, I, Nobody stands out as an entertaining and thought-provoking thriller that keeps audiences invested from start to finish.
