Indian nationals in Israel and Gaza safe
About 18,000 Indian nationals are living and working in Israel and there have been no untoward incidents reported involving them, sources told news agency PTI.
The Indian embassy in Tel Aviv has been receiving requests from Indian nationals, including tourists, who are stranded due to the Israel-Hamas war, to facilitate their safe exit.
Several Indians living in Israel are working as caregivers, but there are also about a thousand students, several IT professionals and diamond traders. Some businessmen visiting Israel are stranded in the conflict and are waiting to be evacuated soon.
On Saturday, the Indian mission in Tel Aviv and the Representative Office of India in Palestine issued advisories asking Indian nationals on respective sides to “remain vigilant” and “directly contact the Office” in case of an emergency.
Embassy officials said they were always available to all Indian nationals and have been proactively guiding them, sources told news agency PTI.
