India reports 34,703 fresh corona cases, lowest in 111 days
India logged 34,703 new cases in the last 24 hours, its lowest in 111 days as the second wave of Covid infections appears to be ebbing. The recovery rate stands at 97.17 per cent and the daily test positivity rate is at 2.11 per cent.
India’s daily positivity rate – which indicates the number of people testing Covid positive for every 100 tests – stands at 2.11 per cent, less than 3 per cent for the 15th straight day.
Daily recoveries continue to outnumber the daily new cases for the 54th consecutive day. The recovery rate stands at 97.17 per cent.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday offered CoWIN, India’s technological platform spearheading its COVID-19 vaccination drive, as a “digital public good” to the world, saying it will be available for use by all countries.
Over 2 crore unutilised COVID-19 vaccine doses are still available with states, Union Territories and private hospitals to be administered, the Union Health Ministry said on Monday. The Centre, it said, is committed to accelerating the pace and expanding the scope of COVID-19 vaccination throughout the country.
