India has a fearless, decisive government: President

President Draupadi Murmu today said India has a “fearless, decisive government today” as she addressed a joint sitting of parliament on the opening of the Budget session. “The government will complete nine years soon. The biggest change today is that every Indian is at the peak of their confidence. Today, India is becoming a solution for the world’s problems,” President Murmu said in her debut address.
The Economic Survey will be tabled in the Parliament today, a day ahead of the Union Budget. The first part of the Budget Session will conclude on February 13 while the second part will be held from March 13-April 6.

Several Congress MPs, including Leader of Opposition in Rajya Sabha Mallikarjun Kharge, will not be able to attend the President’s address due to delayed flights from Srinagar on account of bad weather, party leader Jairam Ramesh said. The Congress leaders and MPs are in Srinagar for the concluding events of the Bharat Jodo Yatra on Monday.
