Ilayaraja sends legal notice to Good Bad Ugly makers
Music composer Ilayaraja has sent a legal notice to the makers of the Tamil film Good Bad Ugly for using his songs without permission.
He has asked for Rs. 5 crore as compensation. The notice was sent to the production company, Mythri Movie Makers through his lawyer.
Ilayaraja pointed out that three of his famous songs were used in the film. These include “Otha Roobaiyum Tharen…”, “En Jodi Manja Kuruvi…” and “Ilamai Idho Idho…”.
He has strongly opposed the use of these songs in the film without his approval.
In the notice, Ilayaraja has given the team 7 days to remove these songs and offer an unconditional apology.
The film features several references to actor Ajith’s earlier movies. Many scenes, dialogues and photos from his old films have been included. Ilayaraja’s song “Ilamai Idho Idho…” is played during a fight scene. “Otha Roobaiyum Tharen…” is also used in multiple scenes including the introduction of villain Arjun Das.
