Going to Delhi to fight for TN’s rights: Stalin

Tamil Nadu chief minister M.K. Stalin came down heavily on AIADMK general secretary and opposition leader Edappadi K. Palaniswami for criticising his visit to Delhi on May 24 to take part in the Niti Aayog’s governing council meeting.

In a post on social media platform X, the chief minister said that he was going to the meeting only to “present Tamil Nadu’s rightful financial entitlements,” and asked why it hurts Palaniswami.

“Regardless of whether it was Sasikala or Amit Shah, he (Palaniswami) never stopped his habit of crawling under the table to hold their feet. Earlier, he had said that his party would never align with the BJP. Later, he waved a white flag following a raid. Doesn’t he feel ashamed to claim that I have waved the white flag,” Stalin asked in his social media post.

Stating that his hands, raised by Annadurai and guided by Karunanidhi, will only hold the black and red flag of the DMK, he clarified that he will always carry the flag of rights and will never crawl.

Stalin asserted that he would never compromise on Tamil Nadu’s rights and had even filed a case in the Supreme Court to secure the state’s dues.

This will be Stalin’s first NITI Aayog meeting since becoming Chief Minister in 2021.
