Fiserv delivers Capacity-Building program for Persons with Disabilities
Provides accessible education, skill development, and empowerment for individuals with disabilities in partnership with Yes We Too Can!!!
Fiserv, a global leader in financial services technology and payments, has partnered with Yes We Too Can!!! (YWTC) Charitable Trust to curate ‘Lights Camera Inclusion,’ a capacity-building program for people with locomotor disabilities. Delivered in collaboration with the Film and Television Institute of India (FTII), an autonomous institute under the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, this year-long program conducted professional training across various skills such as screenplay writing, podcasting, smartphone filmmaking, acting, and dubbing for 120+ beneficiaries. The project is executed by Fiserv in partnership with United Way Mumbai.
A testament to the dedication and creativity of all participants in this initiative is the creation of two short films titled ‘Stride – Breaking Barriers. Embracing Identity’ and ‘When Opportunity Knocks on the Recruiter’s Doors.’ An embodiment of the Fiserv commitment to social responsibility, these films celebrate the talents of persons with disabilities while carrying a strong message of inclusion.
During the screening, Gopakumar Subramanian, Senior Vice President, Global Services, Fiserv, said, “At Fiserv, we work to create an environment that celebrates equity and inclusion at our workplace and beyond, enabling everyone to realize their full potential. Our initiatives supporting persons with disabilities are designed to build self-reliance and employable skills for the beneficiaries, thus contributing meaningfully to inclusive development in the society.”
This initiative aims to empower individuals with disabilities by equipping them with valuable skills in screenplay writing and film production, thereby enhancing their employability in the film industry. Through compelling short films, it challenges societal perceptions about disability, celebrating the talents and contributions of those with disabilities and advocating for greater inclusivity and acceptance. The program strives to foster a more inclusive society where diversity is embraced and persons with disabilities are recognized for their talents in mainstream media and beyond.
“I am proud of our course participants’ achievements in the Lights Camera Inclusion Program. This initiative celebrates their talent and the power of inclusivity. We thank Fiserv, FTII, and United Way Mumbai for their thoughtful support in making this initiative possible,” said Madhavi Latha Prathigudupu, President, YWTC Charitable Trust.
