Don’t try to create rift in AIADMK-BJP ties : Nainar Nagendran

A day after saying that any decision on NDA forming a coalition government after the 2026 Assembly elections will be taken by the BJP High Command, newly appointed Tamil Nadu BJP President Nainar Nagendran on Thursday urged the media not to fuel speculation or attempt to create a rift in the AIADMK-BJP alliance revived a nearly two year hiatus.

Talking to reporters Nagendran, who is also the BJP Floor Leaderin the State Assembly, said, “Usually, you ask me a question. But this time, let me answer it before you ask. It’s like a Vivek (late popular Tamil film comedian) comedy scene-I already know what’s on your mind.”

He asserted that there is no room for speculation, as decision regarding the alliance will be taken after discussions between Union Home Minister Amit Shah and AIADMK leader Edappadi K. Palaniswami (EPS).

He also appealed to the media not to create unnecessary confusion. “Please don’t stir doubts or try to divide the alliance. These kinds of attempts by media friends are not needed,” he said.

Nagendran also made a polite request: “I kindly ask you not to raise these kinds of questions with anyone. Don’t attempt to break the AIADMK-BJP alliance. Our focus should be on ousting the DMK government from power.”

His statement reaffirms the BJP’s commitment to its ties with AIADMK while cautioning against media-driven narratives that could impact alliance dynamics ahead of future elections.
