“Don’t Trouble The Trouble” Movie Review
Fahadh Faasil is magical, and Don’t Trouble the Trouble is a film that deserves to be embraced for the warmth and wonder it brings to the screen.
This is the charming in-between world of honesty and magic that Fahadh Faasil and Shashank Yeleti’s Don’t Trouble the Trouble inhabits. The film wants to be a warm hug wrapped in a magic trick—a gentle fantasy that allows adults to rediscover their sense of wonder while making children feel understood.
Fahadh Faasil plays Suri, a small-time street magician and con artist in Hyderabad who survives by performing low-end magic shows and pulling off petty scams. An orphan willing to take risks for quick money, Suri finds himself in serious trouble after duping local gangster Aslam Bhai, played by Mahesh Manjrekar. With an ultimatum to arrange Rs. 25 lakh in just two days, Suri desperately searches for a way out.
His life takes an unexpected turn when he encounters Divya, played by newcomer Ssara Palekar, a young girl who possesses genuine supernatural abilities. What begins as an accidental meeting slowly develops into an unusual and touching bond. Suri soon discovers that Divya’s powers are real—and that they spiral out of control whenever she becomes angry.
Fahadh is undoubtedly the film’s biggest strength. His performance is sincere, playful and technically assured. He brings a wonderful combination of vulnerability, mischief and emotional depth to Suri, making the character engaging even in the quieter moments.
Ssara Palekar is another major highlight and a delightful discovery. She is natural, unforced and completely comfortable before the camera. She never appears to be a child actor trying to impress an adult audience; instead, she feels like a real child who simply happens to find herself inside an extraordinary story.
Yeleti’s screenplay takes its time introducing the characters and establishing their world. The film’s gentle rhythm gives its emotional moments room to breathe, particularly in the relationship between Suri and Divya. While some sequences could have benefited from a faster pace and greater variation, the film’s heart remains firmly in the right place.
Ultimately, Don’t Trouble the Trouble is a sincere fantasy with a generous spirit. Fahadh’s performance, Ssara’s freshness and the film’s underlying tenderness make it a charming experience—one that reminds us that sometimes a little magic is all we need.
